Development of skills

A shift from content-based learning to the development of skills.....

Education in the present scenario focusses more on the development of skills than just the knowledge-based grades. IB introduced ATL skills as an important component of the teaching-learning process. ATL stands for approaches to teaching and learning which focusses on the development of skills primarily research, collaboration, self- management and communication. The Diploma programme curriculum is framed in such a way to provide opportunities for students to work on assignments and assessments which are framed in such a way that one of these skills are being developed. The group 4 project in the sciences and group activities in other subjects ensure that students know how to collaborate. Investigations in the sciences, case studies, and commentaries in Economics help students to understand what research means. Further oral activities in Language A and oral commentaries in language B help to promote communication.

Skill-based education prepares students for life!
